The Fijian dollar (currency code FJD) has been the currency of Fiji since 1969. Like the US dollar, the Fijian dollar is divided into 100 cents. Beginning in 1867 the US dollar and the Fijian dollar were equal in value until 1873 when the Fijian dollar was replaced with the Fijian pound. The Fijian dollar was then reintroduced in 1969 where 1 pound = 2 dollars. Coins of the Fijian dollar are denominated into 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 cents, and $1. Notes are denominated as $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100.
